Jonny Be Bueno is a handsome 3-year-old Thoroughbred gelding by Rattlesnake Ridge who came to Redwings from the CARMA Placement Program. Jonny was sold as a two-year-old for $80,000 but only had three starts before retiring due to an injury. In his final race on November 30, Jonny sustained a slab fracture of the 3rd carpal bone. Jonny’s owner chose to surgically repair the fracture on December 2, so he could pursue a second career. Jonny spent four months on strict stall rest to allow the fracture to heal and now has been turned out in the pasture. Jonny is walking, trotting, and cantering under the saddle. He has also done a small amount of trail riding. He can tend to be a little more nervous out on the trail and will require a confident rider to help instill confidence in him. He will be suitable as a lower-level sport horse prospect.
