Huntsville, aka Hunter, had 45 starts in California with 3 firsts, 8 seconds, and 4 thirds. In his career he earned $313,470 and was at one time a Kentucky Derby prospect. Hunter sustained a left front suspensory injury in August 2015. His trainer rested him for 8 months before deciding to retire him. In May Huntsville joined the CARMA placement program and in July he was placed at Redwings.
Hunter was born April 10, 2009 and stands 16.3 hands tall. He has a unique feature, bony frontal skull bosses above each eye, making him a real life unicorn. Historically “horned horses” were prized for their endurance and courage. Hunter is a perfect gentleman to handle, and loves attention. He is very gentle, sweet, and eager to please. Hunter is a great sport horse prospect and is suitable for many disciplines.
