Triple Play Hay “Trip” came to Redwings from the CARMA Placement Program. Trip is unraced due to reoccurring troubles with his left knee. Trip had surgery in September of 2017 to remove a small bone fragment from his knee. He made a complete recovery and returned to training. Unfortunately, after a morning workout in June of 2018, Trip’s knee was swollen and sore again. His owners decided to retire Trip but wanted him to have a productive second career, so they paid for him to have a second surgery on July 1st to remove a second bone fragment. The surgeon gave Trip a positive prognosis for a second career as a low-level sport horse. He made a full recovery and is now happy in his new permanent home.
