Trigger was rescued from an auction in Texas in November of 2021. He was scheduled to ship to Mexico in just days when another rescue was able to save him at the last minute. We don't know anything about his history or why he ended up at the auction that day. Every year hundreds of horses and ponies like Trigger end up on trucks headed to Mexico. Trigger had horribly overgrown hooves and was suffering from shipping fever when he arrived in California at a partner rescue. The rescue worked closely with their vet and farrier to slowly return Trigger's hooves to a normal shape. In January of 2023, Trigger was transferred to Redwings so we can hopefully prepare him for a new loving home. Trigger will be available as a companion pony only and is not suitable for riding.
