Ernie is an Irish-bred thoroughbred that was imported as a two-year-old. Ernie raced 11 times, four times in Ireland and seven times in California. Ernie had two wins, 1 second, and one-third during his race career. Ernie’s last race was on January 24, 2016, at Golden Gate Fields. Ernie’s trainer and owners felt that Ernie was not enjoying racing and put him in the CARMA placement program.
On March 5, 2016, CARMA placed Ernie at Redwings for some time off and then training for a second career. Ernie retires from racing sound, healthy, and ready for his new career. Ernie has an adorable expression and melts the heart of everyone that meets him. He is always the first one at the gate to greet visitors. He is now happily adopted.
