Mora was born with conformational problems with her stifles (a joint equivalent to the human knee) and one of her stifles was fractured at a young age. This condition caused her to have chronic lameness in both hind legs and has made her unridable. When her owner fell on hard times she gave Mora away to a friend who she thought would give Mora a good home. A while later she stopped by to visit Mora in her new home and was horrified to find Mora was very thin and had multiple lacerations over her hindquarters. She quickly rescued Mora from the situation but was unable to keep Mora so she contacted Redwings.
Mora has severe osteoarthritis in both stifles, but it doesn’t slow her down. She enjoys her afternoons in her grassy turnout with her buddy Stella.
