Breed: Arabian Gelding
Redwings Arrival: June 8, 1993
Cyclone is a gorgeous bay Arabian. Cyclone was purchased from 101 Livestock Market on June 8, 1993, he was only two years old. When the small scared colt with hip number 181 was lead into the arena Redwings quickly bid on him and purchased him for $225. By his appearance we have no doubt that he is a well bred and pure bred Arabian. In his short life Cyclone had already been bought and sold 3 times. His last owner only owned him one day before taking him to the livestock market. The owner said that the shy little colt was passed from owner to owner because he was so spooky and skittish and very hard to handle.
Once back at Redwings the staff began to work with Cyclone daily to gain his trust. Over time he became the sweet and loving horse that he is today. He is still a little shy with new people, but he is very friendly with the staff and volunteers that he knows and trusts. Today Cyclone has a very important job at the sanctuary. Cyclone and Patrick are helping to raise little Black Jack who was born at the sanctuary in May of 2015. Cyclone spends his days grazing with his two friends and playing with the young colt.
